All 350 Public Television stations are notified through PBS Connect, the internal Intranet communications network, prior to release through the Public Television satellite system. Advisories include transmission date and times, satellite coordinates, story summary and technical and editorial contacts.
Currently, more than 100 U.S. public television stations broadcast Fast Focus short-form programming in all day-parts, both "prime-time" and "nonprime". The Fast Focus series now reaches 8 of the top 10 markets - over 60 million households nationwide. Some cable networks may seem similar to Public Television, but are they really the same? The facts tell the story. Public Television has nearly two times the coverage of CNN, Discovery and A&E. Nearly one-third of all TV households tune to Public Television during the average week.
